    If you were into the sneaker game back in '05, you definitely remember the White/Varsity Red-Steel Grey. They were one of the few well-received releases among a number of disappointing colorways, and sold fairly well in stores. This pair, however is not quite the pair we remember from 2005. This is actually an unreleased sample, with one major difference. Instead of the silver sock liner, this pair has received a checkerboard pattern, very similar to that of the White/Black-Steel Grey Xs. It might not seem like much, but IMO, Jordan Brand's decision to switch to a solid liner was a good one, as this seems to take away the attention from the rest of the sneaker.
