I'm sure a lot of you remember the highly popular Black/Max Orange Air Jordan I Retro from 2009, but did you know that they were originally planned to release in a Black/Infrared color scheme? As you can see from this sample below, the overall color pattern remains the same, but max orange over black leather upper has been replaced with infrared patent leather and black nylon materials. While I'm not a big fan of patent leather on Air Jordan 1s (too squeaky), there's no doubt these would have been a nice release.
